TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- Head of Shiraz Petrochemical Complex says the plant has launched its clean development mechanism (CDM) project.
The project has been launched with the aim of reducing greenhouse emission at the plant and will become fully operational in a matter of a month, said Mohammad Mehdi Faham said on Sunday.
He said an investment of $7m was made for construction of the project.
He said all the engineering and supervision on manufacture of the items needed for the project were done in South Korea but construction of the project was done by the plant’s skilled staff.
He said the project is now in the pre-startup phase and will become fully operational by next month.
This is Iran’s firm CDM project being carried out with the aim of meeting some of the requirements of the Paris Agreement on reduction of greenhouse emissions.
